Average yearly textbook costs

Depending on the discipline, the average investment in textbooks per year can be $600 - $1600.

Save with used books

Used books cost 25% less than new books, are tax exempt and often are in pristine condition! They sell fast though, so shop early!

Sell my textbook

Students can save money by selling their textbooks back to the Bookstore at the end of the term. We pay up to 50% of the new book price if it's in demand. Check out price, demand and complete buyback details on our buyback page.

Gift Cards

Gift Cards are available at all cash registers and can be set for any amount and have no set time limit. For those living out of town, a gift card can be paid for by phone and set aside for your son or daughter to pick up once they arrive on campus.

Payment options

The Bookstore accepts Cash, Debit, Visa, Mastercard, American Express & personal cheques for payment. If you would like to purchase course materials for your son or daughter, but are out of town, we recommend purchasing online or pre-purchasing a gift card over the phone.

Returns policy

Full returns policy details are here, but whatever you do- keep all your receipts and know the time limits!

When to shop

Textbook lists are available on our website by early August and 75% of course materials are in-stock by then. It pays to shop early, either in-store or online, because you'll find the best selection of used books and a quieter store. Avoid the crowds and lines the first two weeks of classes, but if you must shop during the "rush" period, come during the first or last hour of the day. Click here for our hours

We're more than just textbooks

We have a wide range of products to offer from insignia clothing to stationery and gifts. Take time to explore our website and sign up for e-news, our e-reminder service that you and your child can take advantage of to keep informed of all Bookstore services, events, sales and much more!

We're non-profit. Any surplus revenue is returned to student services here on campus! For every dollar spent on course materials, here is where it goes.
